A second staging of the experimental Zoom play “Korone un der nayer normal” (Corona and the New ‘Normal’), in 2021. See Yiddish STARS in action – Avi Hoffman starring as Corona, Suzanne Toren as the Internet, Sam Guncler as The Essential Worker, Bertolt Karsten Troyke as Twitter, Mikhl Yashinsky as Facebook, Lea Kalisch as Instagram, Moishele Mario Alfonso as Madame Netflix, and Lea Rozenfeld as Baby Tiktok. The performance was followed by a premiere of the 3D animation of the Yiddishland California project by Kendal Eastwood, featuring a brand new song by Psoy Korolenko.

Collaborative adaptation of Leah K. Hofman’s “Kraft”
“Korone un der nayer normal” (Corona and the New ‘Normal’) was inspired by Leah K. Hoffman’s 1930 Kraft (Power). The script was adapted during Yidish vokh (Yiddish Week) 2020, by Jana Mazurkiewicz, Pam Singer, Stephen Ogin, Sasha Hoffman, Elena Ita Luchina, Suzanne Katchko, German Bernate Obando, and Tanya Yakovleva. A staged reading of the play was performed by the authors, co-produced by YAAANA and Yugntruf, and reviewed by Faith Jones for the Digital Yiddish Theatre Project.
